The Negev
הַנֶּגֶב
Then Avram traveled on, continuing toward the Negev הַנֶּגְבָּה.
Genesis 12:9

The Negev in the Bible is a place of light. The Menorah which was shining of the light of the Torah, was located at the south of the courtyard of the Temple.
This light is synonym of wisdom and Jewish tradition says that:
" Whoever wants to obtain wisdom, will turn to the south to pray" Baba Batra 25b
The Negev is an outstanding place, meant for meditation and a place to receive revelations. Avraham lived there 26 years, Yitzchaq dug wells and Yaakov came to search G-d before his going down to exile.
It is also in the Negev that the exiled from France and Spain will come back up to Ovadiah's prophecy:
Obadiah 1:20 Those from this army of the people of Isra’el exiled among the Kena‘anim as far away as Tzarfat, and the exiles from Yerushalayim in S’farad, will repossess the cities in the Negev.
The road of the ancestors represents prophetically the Messianic Era when G-d will bring back His people like streams in the desert:
Return our people from exile, ADONAI, as streams fill vadi s in the Negev. Those who sow in tears will reap with cries of joy. Psalms 126:4-5

We invite you to come and walk on the paths of Avraham Avinu, Avraham our father, and discover this very wisdom the Patriarchs were looking for, in the midst of the desert, near the Biblical place of Kadesh Barnea, where the Jewish people stayed more than 20 years on their journey to the Promised Land.
